OBJ genesis model shoe issue

Hi,

i have fitted shoes obj file to the genesis 3 model and then saved as a obj file and then imported into CLO 3D.

when i import into clo, one of the shoe colours is different and is causing issues with collision on the garment.

Has anyone had this happen before?

when i render , the shoes both appear normal.

Yes I have had this issue.

I assume you inverted one of your Obj shoes to make it fit the other foot - i.e., by making X-scale -100% or something similar to this?  If you do this it inverts the normals too.

CLO3D and Marvelous Designer use the Normals to tell the fabric how it should behave.  it will try to push the fabric onto the outside of the outward facing normals, which is why the fabric is getting sucked into the shoe (because the outward facing normals are on the inside of the shoe).

    Solution:

Export your Obj Shoe to Blender

In Edit mode, go to Normals -> Recalculate to Outside

    Export as Obj

    Refit to Genesis

After that it should be fine.
