Creating clothing and accessories

I've been researching how to create clothing and accessories in DAZ Studio, but it's hard to find, but when I find, the tutorial is outdated or difficult to understand.
Now I'd like some tips on how I can create clothes and accessories with more ease (tutorials or free tools) that can help.
Thank you all!

Export your target figure (say Genesis 2 Female) as OBJ, making a note of the preset you choose in the options dialogue (ideally choose the one that matches your modeller, but that isn't mandatory). The figure must be in the zero pose and unmorphed.
Import the figure into your modelling application. Model you clothes or accessories around it, on a separate layer or in a separate mesh item. Export the item you made as OBJ.
Import the OBJ into DS - using the same preset as you used to export (so that the scale and orientation come out right). Load the figure. Go to Edit>Object>Transfer utility - set Genesis 2 female as the Source, and your OBJ as the Target. Click Accept. That is the basic route, though in practice a fair bit of tweaking is likely for non-skin-tight clothing, and especially for skirts or the like.
File>Save as>Support Asset>Figure Prop Asset will let you save your item, the names you enter for Author and Product determine the folders used for the item in the \Data folder - I recommend using the drop-down at the top to set the Base path to an empty content directory to make everything easy to find.

I also have some tutorials on my deviantart blog, linked in my signature, including one for working from Blender to DAZ Studio (sorry, you haven't told us what your modeling program is ;) ).

My modeling program is the DAZ 4.6.
DAZ Studio is not a modeling program, only a renderer; you can't use it to create models from scratch, just to load existing assets that have already been created elsewhere and rig them to a skeleton.

There are templates that help you create in any image editor?
There are templates that help you create in any image editor?
Those are for creating 2D textures that go on 3D objects. The template is just a guideline, like a tracing paper outline, that lets you know where the edges and UV areas are. You would still need to use the image editor to create the textures or a 3D program to paint them. And that requires that the 3D model was already created and UV mapped in a modeling program (such as Modo, 3ds Max, Maya, Hexagon, Blender, Mudbox, LightWave, etc.).

I have observed that in the shop of DAZ, has features that help you create clothes in the software, but for me (because of the currency conversion), is very expensive. Seen on the links that you left that has how to create clothes in Blender (version 2.7), which is another software that I'm trying to learn to use and until then, I'll try to work on the two softwares.
And by the way, the Blender should be compatible with duf files. :cheese:
I have found a leather texture in a clothing product I already own. That texture is currently on a skirt. Is it possible to export that same leather texutre to use elsewhere...? on something larger like a sofa...? If, by somehow expanding / enlarging this texture I can actually re-apply it, can you list me the work flow steps required using the least expensive available software? Keep in mind the sofa-couch I want to re-texture is already a working model, just with a cloth texture. So I'm looking for the workflow and software requirements to remove, expand, and refit a texture to some other model. Both models involved in the intended transfer are made for the DS environment. and thxs in advance for your time....
Probably not, but it depends. Often the textures on clothing will not be a basic fabric pattern set to tile but will be shaped, perhaps stretched, and probably have added detail such as stitching to fit on the skirt. That doesn't mean you can't try - use the Surface Selection tool to click on the skirt, File>Save as>Shader preset, then use the Surface Selection tool to click on the sofa and apply the preset (by double-clicking on it in a content pane or by using File>Merge).
