Move to Position

Maybe I dreamed it but I seem to remember seeing or using some method by which I could select a figure (e.g. G8) and transport to a specific spot somewhere else in the scene. Or maybe I did that in Blender? Anyhow, is it possible in DAZ Studio. I don't mean dragging the X/Y/Z sliders until th efigure reaches the spot, I mean select the figure and the some kind of key/mouse combination to instantly teleport her. I just seem to use up an inordinate amount of time eithe rdragging the sliders or guessing the numerical position values.

It might be one of Casual's scripts?

Casual is so prolific that I get lost on his site but, yes, I will look there. If anyone has a script it will be Casual.

Not the same but seems to be a relatively unknown feature: when you load an object you can drag it to a specific place if you keep Alt/Cmd pressed while dragging it.

Yes - I do that too ... very handy. I wish we had the same feature within the viewport after the figure is loaded.

Thanks. I think the Position Helper is for big terrain scenes and I'm more concerned with smaller areas but as it is free I'll download it anyway and give it a try.

When I have a few minutes free I intend to visit Casual's site but it is helpful that you know the names of the scripts.

I'm just wondering... How would DS know where that "somewhere" is if no coordinates are given?

Blender has a thing where you can move the cursor (a viewport cursor, not the mouse cursor) to a point in the scene and some key combination (Shift-S) to snap your selected object to that point. OK, so I could grab the figure using the Universal tool and drag the figure with the arrows but I thought I had seen some other technique. I was probably thinkig of Blender though.

Not exactly what you're looking for, but one script I've used a bunch is yashiro_amamiya's Frame_In freebie at Rendo.  It moves your selection in front of the active camera.  Yashiro also has a script that hides whatever's behind the camera, as a sort of free version of Camera View Optimizer.

Well, if not exactly what I'm looking for (not sure I am actually sure about what I'm looking for myself, TBH), I've certainly been given some interesting options that I wasn't aware of. Thanks, all.

Here's a solution that's pretty simple, and you can see where the object you move is all the time, even inside buildings:

Yes - thanks for that link. That is something I have found a need for often and wasn't aware of the script. Especially when using the Active Pose tool and pins ... the further away from World Centre, the more the pins grow in size.
