Octane Render

Someone is using Octane Render. It seems to be faster that Iray but when I try to render a complete scene, one house with two characters, it seems to stock in "building geometry" forever and the render dos not start. When i render just a character in a empy scene, it goes fine. Any advice, solution?
Thanks

In Octane's main window go to the "System" tab, and copy-paste here its log (from the bottom of the tab). I assume that you don't have enough VRAM
You might want to check your GPU (memory) Configuration (see below) to ensure you have enough system RAM allocated in case you run out of GPU memory (not sure this is the problem, but it's worth a try). It might be possible that the particular house model you are trying to render has some odd geometry that Octane doesn't like (not something I've every run into or heard anyone having problems with, but it's within the realm of possibilities).
Hope this helps!!
I've had that hang-up before. For me - I simply closed the viewport and started again, or reload the scene. So far that has worked every time - but could be other issues as suggested above. If you are shy on VRam - that will always be an issue.
I was hoping we would get a forum for Octane like Blender and C4D - hopefully enough people using Octane it to make that wortk while. The Daz forum on Otoy seems to be mostly dead. Hope that is not the case!
Try rebuilding the scene from the render viewport, sometimes it just gets stupid, other times as noted could be the memory issue, so make sure that your drivers are updated and your video card can support your scene. I've always had more luck loading things from embedded data and rebuilding the scene after changes than using auto conversion and live viewport option. If you're getting more such issues with the plugin go to C/users/YourName/Octane Render/data and delete OctaneRender_settings.oczdb file, this will give the plugin settings a reset (new file will be created when you reopen the plugin).
Also, make sure to have the latest Nvidia drivers installed. I had a similar issue and that was the fix. I think it should be any version over 450.
Thanks!!! I do everything you say and seems to work. I was able to render the scenes but i it seems to that iray shaders and llights are not working with Octane. The scenes need to apply some Octane mats
Photometric lights won't work as Octane doesn't see them, but you can convert mesh lights into Octane emitters by adding emission to the surface. You can use Environment maps/HDRIs under Environment tab choosing HDRI and changing RGB Color to RBG Image and loading your HDRI there. Auto conversion of materials isn't the best and needs some tinkering around for good results. If you're not familiar with Octane plugin basics, maybe this video can help:
Oki, I'll understand the light stuff... I love how octane shows the lighning in realtime but i've decided to use it for simpler scenes cause is very anoying to replace all the shaders...
The majoirty of the time its due to vram. Some prvious versions of octane had that issue but i havnt run into it with the current plugin. I run Gpu-z just to check how much vram is being used. If you get it hanign liek that. just remove stuff from the scene until it works again.
