I saw the hat that came with the plague doctor and wanted the outfit for that, if nothing else, looked at the other outfits and thought I would try the bundle, compare the price of the it vs. the price of the guy's outfits and Ichabod; the bundle was cheaper. Only thing I already had was the mansion, of couse the horse, so those each gave me more discounts, along with a collector's discount. I wan't even aware that the horse texture was free until it showed up in my cart. Not quite awake at that point. So 85% off is nice.

I am also wondering if the glowing balls can be disabled too, without messing up the outfit.

    Thank you Daz.

Yep. Also own SASE Blaise from the other site. I guess I'm sitting this one out.

Only 2 purple banners since I don't own the Mansion.

I hadn't realized we had the naval uniform (Valentino's bundle), which is good to have in the library. I wish the Folklore outfit in this bundle were more like a Cuirassier. At least there's a red coat, although some French Imperial blues would be nice. If we could get into Regency/Napoleonic outfits sideways, through things like this, it would be better than just having M4 stuff. I guess you could repurpose the epaulettes from the naval outfit, although I doubt I'll get this bundle any time soon.

Ichabod looks a fair bit amount like snape from the film.

Does anyone know whether the Plague Doctor outfit can be used without those hanging glowing ball thingamabobs, please?

Product page lists both "belts" and "belts with censers", so I'd say yes.

    Thank you.

Yes, after loading the coat and the belt with canisters, and closing eyes, I then deleted everything and reloaded the coat and paid attention to 'Plague Doctor Belts' and no canisters loaded.

Love the look so far. Now I have to delete and load a guy to wear it!

Add: Pockets open! Wow, the options.

The only critique I have for Ichabod is that in the story he has a gangly lanky body type.  The body that was created for his character is actually sort of muscular!

You are right regarding the original story :). Our idea was to do something a little bit different. This is a re-interpretation mixing features from the original tale, disney's character and the movie/series actors who have played this character aswell. In general he's a mixture of some british actors that have some sort of facial features that could represent a colonial man from that period.

  • I think there are some really nice products here. Ichabod looks great to me. He could suit a lot of different genres. You could always dial in some lankiness and put a paler skin on him. He seems very versatile. The two female characters don't do anything for me because I have many similar looking Gen8 females, but I like the men's clothes and the mansion is in my wishlist. The copse trees are nice. I have no need of a plague doctor getup, but the pieces besides that mask look well-made and good for kit-bashing. Ember horse is interesting. I think it's an offer with good value.

I wish the Forklore and Ichabod overcoats had closures modeled into them, even if they don't have a closing morph.

Can someone tell me what saddle is being used on the horse in the promo images...?

Here is a quick test render of Ichabod.  Great skin details and he can look quite serious/fierce.  On another note, I still haven't managed to find Blaise.

I don't really have a need for headless, but the body that comes with it looks like it would make for a great vampire. Does anyone know if the body can be used (dialled in) with other characters? I'm assuming yes? But I've not seen anything like that before so I'm not sure if it would distort the character's head or something if it was dialled into another character. Does anyone know?

Yes, the body can be mixed with any head morph. The body morph is included, you don't have to use the geograft, however the textures included will not work without the geograft, you would have to use another texture set.

hard to pass by at $23 and some change.  I like the plague doctor, trees, and the headless dude. great bundle // only 10% off the bundle, but ... 20% each for owning horse 2 and the mansion. The 20% off for the horse is great considering I've owned that forever or longer

Yes, Ollie 8's body would of been a good starting point but I can see why they want to avoid making folk buy Ollie 8 to properly use Ichabod.

  • Just some thoughts, as someone who is especially interested in horror products:

The bundle headliner isn't very interesting to me - the character looks cartoonish in the promos, and cartoonish isn't what I want in horror. Josh Crockett is an impressive artist, but I'd prefer something more realistic (in style, not concept) and terrifying. Something more like his older products - The Exile, The Fallen One, The Disruptor. (Speaking of which, I'd be interested in G8 versions of those G3 creatures since the usual tools don't convert HD details.)

It would have been nice if this bundle featured a product to make any G8 character (male or female) headless. Similar to this G3 product.

Ichabod, Ichabod Outfit, S1M Plague Doctor - these look fantastic and sold the bundle to me.

Vynesia looks like a fun character - I'm a sucker for that Elvira-esque horror hostess kind of thing. (Blaise is great, but a bad choice for a bundle slot, as mentioned earlier.)

I was interested in Albert Mansion but didn't buy it at release due to the lack of interiors. It effectively cost $6 here ($24 w/banner for owning it versus $30 w/out banner). I still don't like older products being included in new bundles, but it worked out well for me in this case.

Goresskull Copse - The trees themselves look good, but what are those brightly colored tubes supposed to be? Guts/intestines wrapped around the trees? Or tentacle vines? Are these supposed to be "monster trees"? Looks like the tubes are optional, so the product should be useful regardless.

Overall, a decent bundle. Not what I'd have preferred, given the choice, but not bad. Hoping for more horror bundles in the immediate future.

Well the Headless Horseman isn't what I would call a "horror" character per sey. It's more of a ghost story than anything... but I hear ya. It's done more in the spirit of Halloween than anything.

I'll consider converting those characters over, but that kind of thing requires a bit of work to do and I'm not sure Daz would be up for having dupes of existing characters.

I tend to rotate my format between sci-fi, horror, and fantasy. So there is always plenty of room for more horror stuff, and I'm not lacking in the area of ideas.

Headless was something Daz requested specifically and I did my best to deliver what I thought was the iconic look of the character. Sorry to hear you're disappointed. Unfortunately, there's no pleasing everyone in this line of work.

No worries - different things appeal to different folks. I didn't mean to say that something was wrong with your work - it's just not my cup of tea this time. And from the comments before mine, this one is appealing to others, anyway. :)

I think it's fitting for the original story, which is pretty wry. I like that the pumpkin face is spooky, but there's enough space there to give him ambiguous intent if you want a creepy Halloween character that isn't 100% setting out to murder people.

There's only so much a guy with a flaming pumpkin for a head can do in the not-cartoonish department anyway, but the axe probably helps. laugh

My first thought when I saw him too. He should blend nicely with my everything-in-the-genepool Snape and a couple of the outfits ought to make some nice teaching/duelling robes when properly kitbashed.

The character is great!  His outfit ... well, his vest buttons one way and his shirt buttons the other.  And you have to widen the front to cover his nipples; despite the outfit being made for the his bundle.  Only the jacket is dforce. surprise

I was right about the blend, my Snape looks even Snapier now that I've added about 40% Ichabod. Does anybody know what hair he's wearing in the main bundle promo? I think it might be Deck Hand hair but I'm not totally positive because that one looks a bit too wavy while the one on Ichabod isn't.
