So I´m new here. I have now looked, and searched as much as I´m able to do, so I´d like to ask for Charlotte Gainsbourg and Chloë Sevigny. Since I´ve read through this whole thread I know that these two are no exactly what many would call celebrities these days, but since I´m now over fifty I thught I´d give these request a go. Regards Snorre, Norway.

The "Alt Ellithia" in the main promo looks kind of like Sevigny to me: https://www.daz3d.com/alt-ellithia-8

Anywhere you like. As there are no material preset files to apply them they have to be applied manually in the Surfaces tab to the diffuse node of each relevant surface. As this is done by a browse to file operation you can basically put them anywhere and browse to them.

Normally texture files of this type go in Runtime/Textures. What I intend to do is create a sub folder called Magnus1781 in Runtime/Textures and put them in there. That way if I save them as a Material Preset then they are all together in my DS Library.

Thankyou Haruchai! I was unsure but you've cleared that up for me. Cheers!

Don't know of any Charlotte Gainsbourg's (also suggest hitting up magnus1781 who likes tackling likenesses more off the beaten path.)

As for Chloe Sevigny I would look into:

    • Josephene 8 by Daz
    • Della by Ion - Unfortunately this seems to have passed from availability

Can't think of an exact match or character in particular, but Sevigny makes me think of iSourceTextures' catalog and overall aesthetic...

Might be a good place to start...?

P3Design's FARA for Victoria 8, was inspired by Famke. ;)

Using smaller pictures or using the resize option to show them at only 800 pixel width probably might them fit on other screens than a 50" TV screen?!?

Probably a bit too old now but Karmir by StudioArtVartanian is a pack for Victoria 4 based on Jean Grey and includes the character, hair and suit.

Definitely looks like someone familiar - can't quite place it. AI seems to indicate Monica Bellucci. Which I can definitely see. But I I feel like it's actually supposed to be of someone younger/more famous right now.

jimdrago used to have a V4 take on her as well, but it is sadly no longer available.

So, I'm gonna say Monica Belucci, but... I mean, they can't all be hits, right? indecision

MB vs CS98. For me the facial structure etc. looks overall right although the nose looks longer. Eye colour right. Brows right. I just think static promo images of 3D characters can lack the animation of the actual person that brings them to life. But I've been wrong before ;)

Remember that in order for modeling artists to be able to have even a prayer of accurately modeling someone or something, they need to have reference material. And barring being in a position to have that object/person actually model for you irl (ie. the old fashioned way) that means relying on proxies like imagery available on the Internet. Which only really exists in quantity for a relatively small group of (usuallly attractive) people.

Hence a big part of why it is you so often see the same names across different artist's bodies of work. It isn't about of lack of imagination. It's about availability.

And as someone who spends a lot of time trying to match these characters to their real life counterparts let me assure you that finding a Google image of a celebrity not smiling and looking straight at the camera can be virtually impossible, not to mention profile pictures. I went looking for a picture of Summer Glau in profile once and found one, yes one, in the whole Google database. Getting good reference material seems really hard.

HID3D's Abbie reminds me of a young Amber Heard. Beautiful character!

Believe you are right. Although imo it wouldn't take much at all for her to stand in for Sophie Turner.

Interesting, I saw a bit of Sophie Turner in her, as well! :)

Mousso's new character 'Echo' looks really familiar to me, but I can't place why.   Is is based on someone famous, or is it just that Mousso style making her seem familiar?   Either way, a beautiful new character.

Could be both. Mousso has a 'that looks something like' vibe on a lot of their characters. Possibly inspired by rather than made to look like, whether that's intentional or not is open to debate.

Having said that, I get a younger Jennifer Connelly vibe from Echo (might just be because I'm trying to find a match rather than the other way round).

    100% Jennifer Connelly.

EDIT: Ok, I didn't know who Freya Tingley is. It's true, kind of looks similar as well.

I'd say either Jennifer Connelly or Margaret Qualley. I suspect the latter rather than the former based on the figure's apparent age.

I'd still say Qualley is a closer match - especially if you take the rest of the character's physical build into it.

Krashwerks' latest character Misty (left) doesn't give a conclusive match at StarByFace, but she does evoke "horror movie cheerleader" vibes. Another recent character, Cora (right), looks a dead ringer for Tina Fey.

    Krashwerks Misty  Krashwerks Cora

Oh, then you know she's gonna die first. Poor Misty! :p
