Smart Content and "Product Index"

Hi Everybody,

The Smart Content pane seems to be dropping more content recently. When I install an item using DIM and login to make sure the metadata exists some content doesn't appear in Smart Content pane but it can be seen in the Content Library pane. I know the Smart Content pane has always been a bit tempramental but it's got worse over the last few months or maybe I just didn't notice it before. Also has anybody else noticed the number of missing items in the Product Index appears to be increasing as well ?

When you click on the icon in Smart Content pane.

Yeah, lots of readme files are missing.  It's nothing new either.  Hikaru came out two years ago.  Missing readmes for new products are reported daily, but nothing seems to get done about them.

That product loads fine for me from the ReadMe link on the product page (I can't remember if Ati's extension puts that there or not):

 

When you get the placeholder message, particularly for an older product, try refreshing it a few times. Frequently it will show up.

I don't own that product so I can't speak for its behavior in Smart Content, but you should at least be able to access the product index through the website. You may just have to beat it over the head a few times.

I can see that ReadMe OK on the website (http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/57707/start)

But I've noticed recently that several of them come up with that message initially, but if I do a hard refresh they then appear correctly. This never used to happen that I can recall.

I don't know what happens when you click on an icon in Smart Content (my Daz Studio PC is not internet connected, so I access the ReadMe's from DIM or the product page of the Daz store) - does it go to that page in a browser window?

The Smart Content product view opens the Studio Help Browser (F1) to the ReadMe page. That temporary placeholder message has been coming up a lot lately, but a refresh will usually get through.
