dForce Dalia Hair

Lady Littlefox's dForce Dalia Hair looks almost too nicely shaded to be dForce hair.  I'd love to know what kind of experience folks are having with it.  I don't do toony/anime style stuff, but it looks like it might be nice for realistic renders.

I believe this hair uses dforce cloth rather than the strand hair simulation. It does say dforce hair though, so I dunno for sure. It's confusing when there's both and they call BOTH dforce ;).

Yeah, I checked that  before posting.  It doesn't show compatibility with the bridges, either, so that's another hint that it's not transmapped.

  • Hihi, sorry for not answering sooner, recovering from shoulder surgery.

The hair is poly based, not stranded. Sorry for the confusion, the terms get so confusing when it is poly that uses d force to make hair.  Hadn't tested it for bridges, but does have trans, normals, etc.

Hope your shoulder gets better quickly.  Had a bout of encapsulitis once and that was bad enough.  Got lucky and one shot of cortisone fixed me up.

So it's dForce cloth based.  I figured it looked too nicely coloured to be SBH.  Thanks for confirming.  <3

Neat, I was hoping it was transmapped when I bought it. Thanks for letting us know, and all the best for your shoulder!

It's pretty nice hair for soft, romantic-style renders, as well as the more stylized ones.  This is with the original materials.  My one disappointment was that the "lift" morphs don't simply raise the curls, but bend them forward.  I'd hoped that they would allow me to shorten them a bit and bring them closer to the face.

Hmmm, just out of curiosity as I'm right now trying to learn how to dForce hair and all, couldn't you put a plane where you want the curls to land by her face and let the dForce do the work of having the hair rest there? Or would that look weird since the hair is still the same length? I haven't tried this, but I got hair to work around a pillow yesterday so I'm just spitballing here. Unless you don't want to do anything with dForce and just use the controls, totally understand that.

I reallly like the look of the hair and will be picking it up a little later today!

That wouldn't work for me.  I like how the curls hang, but would like for the straight parts to be shorter.  I may give Mesh Grabber a whirl, but don't think that's the ideal tool for it.

Same here, I'd also like to be able to shorten them a bit. Maybe dFormers will work, I'll try those when I find the time. @Sevrin, I'd love to know how it's working out for you with MeshGrabber!

I tried it, but will have to fiddle some more.  It's possible to make them shorter, but it needs to be done in fairly small sections to avoid kinks around the cheeks.  I think it can work, but proper morphs made by someone who knows what they're doing would have been better.
