Usually under your account (top right) and then there is a tab serial numbers (lock icon)

I just bought it and have the same problem.

There is no serial number for it in the serial numbers tap in my account.

I don't have a serial number either. I think I'm going to get a refund.

I have sent a message to Abalone about the missing serial...

Will wait a couple of days...what is the deadline for getting a refund?

    30 days from purchase

I would rather have the product work than have to get a refund. If it does what it says well then it would solve a longstanding problem for me.

These programs rely very heavily on the texture maps created from the photographs to achieve their likenesses, (including the problems that entails) rather than geometry manipulation. As such I consider most of them snake-oil. Two photos are obviously better than one in the scheme of things but with a low poly model there's a limit with what can be done. To be honest I've never seen any of these programs produce an acceptable likeness immediately recoganisable of a known "celebrity" without prior suggestion as to who it might be. Unless or until we have a model with a high level of facial subD and a program that incorporates hundreds/thousands of base images rather than two, like Deepfake technology, producing realistic likenesses is a bridge too far with the currerent iteration of DS. Perhaps the next one.

Disagree - there is a great deal of geometry manipulating going on. Please read the enclosed white paper: https://printahead.net/white-paper-working-difficult-photos-daz-studio/ ; It explores how three different DAZ Studio plugins deal with Shape and texture.

I was assured by DAZ that they corrected the missing serial keys for HeadShop 13 for Genesis 8.

Yes, the serial number is there now. Note that DAZ said the product could be installed with the DAZ Install Manager.

In these pictures, the middle picture is the original, the left picture is the Headshop one, and the right picture is the Face Transfer one. My first impression is this software works best on white people. On the two Black girls, regardless of light skin or dark skin, it seems to interpret their actual skin color as more of a blemish painted on the default skin color that it uses.

No instructions seem to be included. The included PDF file only explains how to install, which involves both clicking on a .exe installer and unzipping a file into a folder created by the installer. Everything I click on in the app generates a popup message linking me to a YouTube video in lieu of included documentation. Maybe I should actually look at those videos to see what I'm missing. But there don't seem to be many adjustments to make to the texture if it's way off. Even mirroring the texture didn't remove Hayley's hair from the texture. I am hoping this is just a case of me not knowing how to use the software yet.

    NylonGirl,

maybe you overlooked the 37-page user manual under the Help menu : https://printahead.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/HS13-Manual.pdf

or the 8 minute how to video: https://youtu.be/s5IhOtNPzhI

It would also help you to adjust the head-shape via the "top-of-the-skull) semi circle in the setup screen (explained in both the video and manual). The key to getting a good likelihood is good high-res pictures.

Photos like that first pic will never, ever work. You absolutely must have good quality photos for any of these sort of apps.  The best result here is easily the best source photo, but still try for better pics. I know this may be tough if you are looking to do like celebs, but is very important to have a good source pic. If you take a pic yourself, you can control these things. Do NOT use a selfie cam. Use a proper camera, with a proper FOV. A big issue with many selfie pics is the FOV, it blows up the proportions. Mugshot style shots can work pretty well, but again, they need to be high resolution. Tie hair back, use soft, even lighting, and you can get decent results.

I bought Headsop 13 with Lovechild and had a serial number no problem. Have never had a problem with this vendor, so it isn't typical.

You are right. I actually got some really decent results from both using older flip phone photos and great results from high quality photos taken with a pro nikon camera.I was able to find instructions no problem, which isn't always the case with some products. A few are more elusive than the Holy Grail.

I think this picture of Ariana came out better. Maybe after another five months or so, I'll know how everything works.

  • NylonGirl, I wish to help you to get better use out of HeadShop. Let's do a skype call and I can show you a few tricks. PM me pls.

Okay so recently I purchased head shop 13 with love child. It installed just like it was supposed to I had no problem connecting it with the key code to unlock it the issue I am having is I cannot figure out how to access it inside of Studio. One of the tutorials said you go to the edit tab to activate it I've gone to the edit Tab and there is nothing there that says head shop I am perplexed where do I find the on switch

I think you click on "Start Headshop" which should be at the bottom of the Edit menu.

  • Version 13 for the mac. cant recognize ANY facial features... the worst plugin I have used in ten years. Sometimes when I try and move the dots they move, other times they dont. cant figure out why.  Feel like it wasnt tested... seems kinda basic to expect better results than this.

Blender has a plugin that seems to do the same thing and it can tell the difference between an eye a nose and lips...
