Here's a nice little tutorial aimed at beginners to Hexagon, hope you like it.
This tutorial uses a simple test grid which was included in the sword tutorial -

and Slosh's Measurement Wall - Very handy :)

18 - That is it, I had a bit of a problem uploading a few of the pictures - Hopefully I did not mess things up.
Any problems please feel free to post a note here or send me a PM - John
Really nice tut John.
:-) Thank you!
yay picture frames
Nice work User. Operator - I really like the render :)
Aint no where near as good as yours User.Operator but this is all I could find.
Very nice, John! Now we need a tut for the broken glass ;)
that broken glass reminds me of something I was messing with a while ago, never did quite do anything with it. it's basically impact shattering glass, that is entirely geometry. the model that makes up the cracked glass is about 5000 faces.
We'll see Doc :)
That is excellent User-Operator
Here you go Doc, I've only made 3 pieces of glass as all you are basically doing is taking faces from one segment to make the next.
I leave a small air gap between each piece as I find it renders better.
Site playing up a bit, looks like it will take a while to upload the pics.
Here is a rough reference image I made -
Sorry, I wanted to upload one picture at a time, but the site would not let me do it that way. You should be able to click on each in turn to view full screen.
