exFAT

I just wanted to put it out there. I have bought myself and PC to supplement my Mac since Macs don't do Nvidia. I wanted a Hard Drive for both. So I searched for best formats for both. I read a good few articles that said exFAT was was the best choice. However NOT ONE of the articles thought to mention that exFAT was a format designed to only work well on SSD, that is, Solid State Drives, Hard drives that don't have a spinning disc. Thanks all you bloggers that read an article once and just regurgitated it without really understanding.
DON'T format your Hard Disk Drive to exFAT if you intend using it for Daz Studio on your Mac.
1. It's SLOW.
2. It's about as stable as a one legged table. It will eject if you overload the connection. It will take a LONG time to remount on your Mac.
So what are the alternatives? Fat32 only allows files smaller than 4Gbs.
It's like the designers of these formats never heard of Moore's Law or just didn't care because they just want to get paid tomorrow.

Seagate SSD drives offer a a 3rd party driver called Paragon Driver , that you can use windows NTSF formats on macs without having to reformating the drive. I thnk if you look around there are others as well which work much better than Paragon
But if you have a seaget drive it comes with it . That is all I know I hope it helps a little

I didn't know that. I've got a few drives though, you never have enough. I've found an app that will let me read/write to NTSF from my Mac. Thanks though.
Due to the missing NVIDIA-Support by Apple I changed to Windows. I'm using HFS+ for Windows by Paragon. I tried other drivers, but the best for me is HFS+. But step by step I want to format all drives to NTFS.
yeah, I've decided to format one drive to NTFS as I feel it's a bit slower than I expected. I'll do that as soon as I can face transfering my library again.
