Cloth, node, textures?

Hi, i am working on a scene right now and have some problem that i can't resolve...

1. I'm trying to run a cloth simulation, but everytime i either get an error or the dress of the charachter just break and do weird stuff, how would i go on resolving something like that?

2. I got an helmet for my charachter, this helmet was made for genesis 2 male, i had to convert it and morph it a bit everything is fine, except for one thing, the textures, they are really bad, no reflection or refraction, just a color... how do i open the node? (does that even exist on daz?) to make a new texture. Nothing crazy, just make a shiny reflective metal texture...

3. I need my charachter to grab the cloth of his cape with one of his hands, how would i do that?

Thanks and hope that someone will be able to help me.

  • 1. Is the cloth made for dForce? Older items may or may not work if converted.

    2. You shouldn't need new maps, you just need to edit the surface proeprties in the Surfaces pane - or even just apply a metal shader preset. Note that with iray (or ray-traced rfelctions in 3delight) you do need something to be reflected.

    3. Without more details it's hard to say, but if this is dForce you might want to look at the dForce Magnet in the store.

    1. Yes it's made for dforce, it's made for genesis 8, so recent much i guess...

    2. all good i fixed it, thx

    3. thx, it looks like it could solve my problem, but i have to find why does the simulation result in errors

Have you restarted DS? Are you doing a single frame simulation or a play range simulation? Start from Memorised Pose on or off, and if on what is the pose? Have you checked that, if the pose is changing during the simulation, no body parts are intersecting with fabric trapped between them? Are you using the default simulation settings, settings that came with the set, or custom settings? Is the final pose very differnt from the starting pose?

Yes i have restarted multiple time since it crashes multiple time.

    Single frame.

memorised pose on, Basic pose, just moved the arm, the head and the torso, but didn't touched the legs.

I can't tell with the dress but yes it's mess, that could be the problem?

    default simulation settings.
