Duplicating database in a new location or on a new drive

I wish to periodically duplicate my content library and directory mappings to a different drive letter and/or path (and run DS on the content at the new location, so I can test things on a content set that can be trashed, discarded, and reset without affecting the real thing). For example, all my content (except for any default folders, which I'll have think about yet) is currently installed in "C:/sean/whatever1...whateverN", but maybe I want the copy to be on "E/:whatever" instead.

To accomplish this, along with the content file copy, can I simply do a mass edit of a copy of my backed-up ContentDirectoryManager.dsx , replacing "C:/sean" with "E:/whatever", then set up DS with the modified file just as I normally would during a system restore had I not modified it? Or is there a better way to change all the paths at once, or a reason that I can't do this, or additional places I would also need to make the change?

Random additional info:
DIM is not being used in this particular case, so I don't have to worry about that.
I have many mapped content folders, so manually editing them through the Content Directory Manager one at a time is not an option.

Sean - go into content directory manager and check out 'Content Sets'.

Click on the 'Content Sets' label, the click on 'new' - the context-sensitive help should give you the rest of the information you need.

Once created, multiple content sets will be useful to switch between the two sets of runtimes. However, this does not address the path change. Manual creation of a new content set is not feasible due to the large number of runtimes, and a copy creates copies with the original paths.
