Selling hair

After some time working on strand based hair everything clicked the other day and I am doing some nice stuff. I was thinking of selling it one day. But I think I will have to make a skull cap for it. The question I have is how should I go about that? Making it based on a daz figure is easy, just pop the geometry off. But that's a copyright issue isn't it?

There might be premade resource type skull caps available for this... I know there were for older generations of DAZ figures.

    You could check ShareCG...

Actually I just came here because I thought someone was selling bags of hair they collected and I was curious if my collection was worth something.

But if anyone needs bags of hair...

Its mostly human... well... mostly primate.

Good quality stuff... low curly hair content too!

Thanks, I'll take a look. I suppose if nothing else I can just drop a plane on a figure and let it just shrink wrap it on the top of the head. I've never actually bought hair props, are there any features people look for? I'd hate to put something subpar out.

Just buy a few dForce hair products out of the DAZ Store and a few polygonal hair for Genesis 8 to check the quality standards yourself. Sort by 'Most Popular'. It helps you also see how hair products in the DAZ Store are organized once installed on disk.

Personally I see a wide range of quality in all DAZ products I buy, even when I filter for Genesis 8 products only.

It needs to be on a skull cap.

  • I have made them in Carrara by slicing a sphere in half then soft select shaping it to fit a head, you could do the same in Hexagon or use proportional editing on a UV sphere in Blender.
