Applying older ds files to Genesis 02?

Hi,
I'm assuming that the older .ds files will not apply to the new tech of Genesis 02 without a conversion to duf.
So I'm a bit out of practice. How do I go about doing that?
I've gotten my female shapes redone for Genesis 02 Male and well ... a bearded lady is not what I'm after but all I see is a V4 template option. I have plenty of V4 skins so may as well make the most of them but yea, the ds files are not applying.
Thanks for the help
Richard

Load V4, apply the .ds material preset, save as Material Preset.
WOW.. that's allot of work. There is no auto script to convert? Come on DAZ.

Edit: my info is wrong.. as usual. lol. See fixmypcmike's post above. I misread your post RAMWolff
Old text:
There is Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female in the store. I don't know how well it works with skin textures though.
Any existing material presets must be re-saved in DUF format from the original Victoria 4 if you use V4 for Genesis 2
You can copy paste all surfaces selected off a V4 in scene I believe
I certainly do it between Genesis 2 genesis and M4 V 4 if I have all 3 in a scene
Hmmm, silly me I have both the converters for V4 and M4 to Gen2 but looking under the scripts I don't see them. So I guess they are somewhere else.... Thanks! :-)
Is the "Map Transfer" utility? I thought that was built into DS?
Hi again,
Can someone please give me a little tutorial on how to make this script by Draggonstorm work?
1) I can't find where this is installed but it's installed (confusing)
2) I've looked through the ReadMe and Documentation folder for a PDF, nada
3) I load up Genesis 02 Female (which the product page says I need but when I try to load up a ds based V4 skin, nothing happens.
So what do I have to do then? Load up Genesis 01 and go the long route?
I don't like paying good money to be this confused by a product and having NO documentation to refer too!
GRRRRRRRRRRR
I don't own the product, but according to the file list in the document center the script should be at
What I usually do - if I am not saving a material preset - is to use a script to rename the surfaces of G2F to G1 ones with the script from BlackFeather1973. After that you can apply e.g .ds or .pz2 materials to G2F. You'd still need to copy the surface from the head to the ears, but well, and remember that shaders won't copy over, only the settings.
Genesis1 surfaces for Genesis 2 Female, and vice versa (UPDATED)
Thanks so much. I've found the scripts thanks to you. So I'll play and see what happens. If I'm not satisfied I'll try out your other suggestion for using Black Fethers script.
Gracias! :-)
