Organising library

Hi guys.
I have so many items (over 2500) in my smart content library that sometimes I feel lost. Is there any tips to organise this? Is it better to use smart contents browser or accessing through content library? How you guys manage this? I know there are people who have much more stuff than me

I'm using the Cathegorizing method, where I creat ecustom categories and create subcategories serving my needs from there. I have different Categories and Subcategories for different projects I am doing. I also can organize easily a product, poses and materials for a product, and other related items I want into according categories. Or, if I want to have just shoes from various products, I can put those together without the dress or pants they belong to..
However, using categories is some work when you first establish it, and also work to maintain.
It does have the big advantage that it eaves your install library untouched, and also doesn't mess with MetaData, which might, or might not, get overwritten during content updates.
