Daz Studio Won't Run Now

Environment: Windows 10 16Gb system RAM, Gigabyte GeForce GTX TI graphics card with 4Gb GDDR5 vRAM

Okay, so I bought an actual graphics card to replace the dinky onboard Intel GPU because Daz Studio was running with extreme latency due to my lack graphics capability. Now it won't come up at all. Nothing comes up on the screen. No error messages. Nothing. it doesn't even show up in Windows task Manager, Funny side note: Blender is suddenly a no-show, too.

Anybody know why that might be? I know my card isn't top-of-the-line but it isn't chopped liver, either. And Daz Studio USED to run with the onboard GPU even if it did so slower than molasses in January. I would have uninstalled it and re-installed but Windows isn't giving me an opportunity to even do that. I installed the latest rev of the drivers for the graphics card so that shouldn't be an issue.  Any ideas? I'm stumped.

  • It might still be the graphics card driver — did you install it direct from NVidia or let Windows find one? Which version is it?

You should also check the settings in the Render Settings pane, Advanced sub-tab; this should show your card as selected (in the Hardware section) as soon as D|S detects its presence, but it never hurts to make sure.
