Anyone used this software http://motionartist.smithmicro.com ?
Thinking of getting it. I understand it's not as fully featured as other packages (some of which I already use for other work purposes), that's sort of the appeal for me. I like the idea that this might be an relatively easy way to turn layered renders I make in DAZ into interactive stories in HTML5 without a lot of the ground-work laying I'd normally need to do in other animation software, and add some sound effects, and I like that it is inexpensive.

I've had AnimeStudio Debut in the past, which was a bit of a waste for me, should have probably gone for the full version or not at all, but this might be a bit different in how focused it seems to be on just the sort of thing I am interested in using it for, which is just adding a little spice and movement to otherwise static images.

Anyone have experience with it, and what do you think?

I was part of the beta testing when they were first developing the software, and like bigh, I did not like it as well. Not the fault of the software, but more a personal dislike for "moving" comics, which is what this is designed for users to achieve.

It was a very long time ago, so I don't remember all the details, but there were a lot of Manga Studio(ish) type elements that were implemented, but it was a much simpler program more akin to Comic Life.

It might have matured now to a more sophisticated program with tools more in line with Manga Studio, but one would need to demo/trial (if available) to make that determination.

I believe you can do more things with it than just motion comics that are similar to what can be achieved in Animation Studio, but I am not sure.

All in all, it just wasn't the right fit for me, because I have no interest in motion comics, and I already had Anime Studio. I later purchased Manga Studio, because that is what was needed for my work.

Thanks DaremoK3, good insights. I'm getting the feeling that maybe the software is not great, but I should try it myself anyway to know if it would work for the (pretty limited) thing I am thinking of using it for. I discovered it's going for less than $20 on amazon at the moment, which seems like a fairly low risk on the modest chance it will do the trick. I'm intrigued mainly by the idea that it outputs to HTML5.
