finding content

I have a general question.  I watch tutoiral videos and I see people going into their content lybrary clicking on clothes or hair or something and seeing a complete product lybrary come up of everything they have.  When I do it, it does not work that way.  I have to go into each seperate product folder in order to see it.  Do I have a setting that is off or something?  Is there a trick I don't know about?

    Are they using the Products tab of Smart Content?

    I have looked at multiple videos and it is both.  I have seen an instructor in Smart content select the figure tab and every character he has loaded appears on the selection window, and I have seen someone in Content library select props and the same. Every prop in their library is displad.  Or at least it seems to.  When I try in either smart content or content library I have to open the main tab and navigate to the spessific loaded product tab in order to display the selection options. A lot of my content is third party content and wasn't loaded up in install manager. Does that have anything to do with it?
