Yes, the DIM is acting up badly this morning. Some things install and others don't, and there's no rhyme or reason. Exiting and coming back in again got a few of mine to load while others stubbornly resisted.

I offer my condolences to your product library.

Make sure the DIM is in the correct file path to your new drive download location, Setting DAZ up on a drive that isn't C can be a bit of an issue, when manually installing files from other sites like Render Erotica these files have to be placed in the library directly, can be done in a few area's of the studio also means you can have multiple files in several locations duplicating, so what i mean is you can load those files in with your other content in the manual file section or you can create whole new directories depending how much you want to sit there and data base all day doing this fiddily boring shit catagorizing products in file trees: "'l'll leave that one for the DAZ people" . The Dim and DAZ Central content usually installs in a seperate area from the manually installed library, some content instore doesn't fully load all materials via the DIM or Central so you might have to manually extract and install those files for all props & shaders to show up, Gets annoying when you have 1000's of different items some of them need to be fully unpacked manually because someone didn't install all materials via the other two installations.

If you decide to start keeping your DIM product installers locally, you should have a seperate SSD or HD as big or bigger than the source disk to make weekly full backups to too. The $100 or $200 for the extra storage is well worth it to avoid the time & repeated download failures you are about to experience.

Storage is mass now days, you'll need windows 10 pro for expanded HD. Plug in two Terra Byte pretty cheap, SSD are cheap light and usually newer boards will have a few slots for faster SSD aswell as plugs to jack more in. good SDD will cost around $300 or $400 in my country, look for the EVO SSD or variant of i'm using a few EVO 970 NVMe M.2 SSD which plug directly into the board about the size of a usb stick but hold 2 Terra Byte storage, you get the larger SSD evo that can plug into the power and mainboard like an old school spool drive. The only thing that spins in my pc are a few fans for cooling, rest is liquid cooled. Spinning HD are larger but slower, prone to break down due to rotations of the disc inside them.

Out of curiosity, if you do store your installers and there is an update later down the road, how do you handle that? I have been deleting my download files as they wiped out my C: drive, and have since had to move my DS files to F: drives, one an external on a laptop.

I was in a MicroCenter last week and there were sales on external drives going on, and I have had flyers from Best Buy also. So it looks like with the Christmas season ramping up, it is a good time to buy higher price items.

They will simply overwrite the old downloaded file.

Thanks for the empathy and suggestions everyone.  May have taken most of an afternoon, but I've got everything installed again.  Even the files that originally had download failures.

    smileysmiley Happy day, indeed.

Thankfully, I save every single zip file on my external hard drive (because I can never be sure my content will be available forever, I take it upon myself to back it up multiple places), therefore this couldn't happen to me. I do feel your pain though :(

I believe the future lists that file as a required resource.
