I am working on an elf image but I want to color the tips of the ears black. Is there anyway to do this in DAZ Studio or will it have to be post work in photoshop?
There is no way of doing that in DAZ Studio. But instead of photoshopping the finished image I would photoshop the characters face map before rendering.

I would but I am already applying skin tone morphs in DAZ. I might just have to do the whole Map of the character.
You could set it as an overlay using a geoshell or layered image editor, with a custom map: create a mask of where you want the ears black then use it as opacity map for the geoshell / mask for LIE layer and set tthe base color for the overlay as black.

Not sure what you mean by "skin tone morph". Whatever you're doing, to change the colour of only the tip of the ears you only have to photoshop the diffuse and translucency maps of the face.
