Render size not as it used to be.

Hi,

I usually render using DS 4.8 pro and in the render settings I most often use sizes Square 1:1 and golden portrait or golden landscape. But lately when I use them the renders work but are tiny compared to how they used to be. I'm assuming I've changed a setting somewhere without realizing, but I don't know what.

Any ideas?

  • Those are aspect ration (proportion) settings, not size settings. With the aspect locked changing one dimension changes the other to match the proportion, but it doesn't stop the size from being changed.

I see what you mean. So, the ratio aspect is working as it should but I've somehow changed the size? How do I get it back to the way it was?

    Render Settings tab; General; Dimensions

What do I do once I get to that?

    Thanks.

The top 4 items on that pane are what you need to be aware of for this.  Between them they specify the dimension ratio (X:Y sizes, such as 16:9, etc.) and the actual pixel size, such as 1600 x 900, etc.

The top entry is a dropdown which allows you to select from a range of supplied dimension ratios - the 3rd itme (Aspect ratio) will update when you make a change here, as might the Pixel size settings.

You can manually enter values in the 2rd and 3rd settings - Pixel size and Aspect ratio, but I tend to not bother with the Aspectratio and let teh system handle that.  The th item is a check box (Constrain Properties (Global) which has On and Off settings: when On then any change that affects obe of the Pixel size (W or H) will automatically set teh other to keep the correct ratio (I tend to have that as On).

In normal circumsyances I *with the Constrain properties on) do this:

Set Dimension Preset to ratio desired.

Check and update if needed the Pixel siz settings, usually I do the W (Width) setting and just check the H setting updates to fiollow the ratio.
