Hi ,
I am running windows professional 64 bit
with DAZStudio_4.6.2.120_Win64 and DS4_GoZ_1.3.3.52_Win64 .. yet the zbrush options are not showing up in Daz studio , why is that ?
I have tried exporting from daz as an obj file then importanting it in zbrush 4.5 however the textures do not get imported as well. Is there something I am doing wrong ? please advise
Thanks for the help
Kind Regards

The last two digits of the version number of the plugin, should match the DAZ Studio version that you are using.
DS4_GoZ_1.3.3.52_Win64 is for use with DAZ Studio 4.6.3.52 (the latest version) and that may be the problem you are having.
Thanks for the help , I will update daz studio later ... :) and see if that helps
Hi Jimmy ,
Thanks again for your help , you were right the last 2 digits in the versions of Goz and daz studio needed to be the same
I am just having trouble with with the texture maps though when I send a figure ... to zbrush from daz studio it does not send the texture maps to , its only the base figure without any maps .... how would I fix this or work around it ?
Sorry if I need to open a new post for this I can do so :)
Thanks again for the help
I don't have ZBrush, and I have never exported to it using the plugin, but there are plenty of members here who have.
If you hang on a little while, I'm sure someone can answer your question.
Applying textures in ZBrush is tricky as, unless they spring something new in the forthcoming update, it does not support applying different maps to different areas of the mesh. Matters aren't helped by the fact that the GoZ bridge doesn't transfer material zones. What are you wanting to do - create the final image in ZBrush, or use ZBrush for texture painting and then use the results in DS?

You will need to load the textures into the texture palette and then apply them to the figure. When you have finished creating your textures you will need to export them.
Dylan is very helpful and has posted a few videos up on YouTube and has even created some specifically to answer questions that people have posted.
Richard, are you sure that material zones aren't transferred with GoZ. I was sure that they were but recently noticed that they weren't any more. I was pretty certain that it did transfer materials. I was actually looking for a way to fix the fact that it wasn't.
I'm not sure that it never transferred materials or groups (not both, though) but it certainly hasn't been recently.
Hi Richard, so if I'm reading what you've said correctly you have found it's not transferring groups at the moment also?
I was certain it had previously and thought I had stuffed up a setting somehow. It's frustrating but I can do it through a manual export when I need to retain the groups. It's just so much easier to be able to use the groups when in ZBrush...
thanks for the response...

Well, ZB4R5 or ZB4R6 messed up the naming of groups on mesh that was imported and reexported so I think there must have been an internal change in the way they are handled that is breaking the attempts of DS to send them over (assuming we are right in recalling that it used to work). For now if you want groups or materials it's necessary to go via OBJ, or to use the auto-grouping via UV islands option in ZBrush.
thanks Richard...I didn't know about the auto-grouping via UV islands. I will have to give that a go. I manually grouped what I wanted the other day by hiding the other bits and using group visible. So much to learn...
Really appreciate the help.
