What about 2D PNG images?

Hello all,

I read the EULA, and *I THINK* I can use static 2D images (PNG) files I create with DAZ 3D for commercial product like video games, posters, etc.

What about all the wonderful stuff in the store? Can I use them in my 2D exports commercially?

Thanks,

Thanks for your help chohole. So I can buy anything I want in the store, render it out to PNG, and use it commercial for whatever I want? Does each product in the store come with its own EULA?

I really appreciate your help. You have to be careful with copyright for commercial games.

You will find the EULA here http://www.daz3d.com/eula (bottom right of every page on the site)

They could. The one product I know of that stands out as being a bit different from the rest is "Anna-Marie Goddard Digital Clone": http://www.daz3d.com/anna-marie-goddard-digital-clone , which has the following note on it's product page:
This product is limited to specific terms of use via the personal request of Anna-Marie Goddard. Please make note of these changes as they are outlined within the End User License Agreement attached with this product. The specific restrictions are as follows: You may not use the product for any commercial endeavor in any manner which implies its endorsement or association with any product, service, or entity without prior written consent of Anna-Marie Goddard, her attorney(s), or other legal business representation."

Thanks Sean. Good catch. Maybe DAZ is a little dangerous for commercial use.

    Thanks again.

    Only that one item AFAIK
    Everything else fine
Stereoscopsy fine too, that is not what is meant by 3D
    You cannot redistribute3D mesh
Unless with the additional game licenses embedded in a game

The Anne Marie Goddard package is the only one I know of that is restricted of the items sold in the store (she is a popular Playboy Playmate from several years back). If there are any others, it would of course be posted in the description as it would be an exception to the DAZ EULA. DAZ is not dangerous at all for what you want to do if you are buying content. Other sites are, especially freebie sites as those folks many times restrict commercial use.

@support, I wasn't trying to scare you off with that comment; That is the only item in the DAZ store that I know of yet with that restriction, which is why I wanted to bring it to your attention.

It is a quite old item, Generation 3 and we are now on generation 6 of the Vickies.

Daz is fine for commercial usage. You only need to read the EULA to see that.

User may (i) access, use, copy and modify the Content in the creation and presentation of two-dimensional animations and renderings, (ii) incorporate two dimensional images (including two dimensional images that simulate motion of three dimensional objects) derived by User from the Content in User’s other works, and (iii) publish, market, distribute, transfer, sell or sublicense User’s two-dimensional animations, renderings and other works

DAZ 3D certainly has the best community out there. You guys are experts. I really appreciate your time.

Next question, has any seen people using DAZ 3D to help them with digital paintings?

    Hello everybody!

Just to clarify, it is legal to use rendered PNG animations commercially, ie renderings
    Composited over video legal?

I think half the point of this whole endeavor is to get more people to use 3D art commercially. They used to even give out prizes to people who spotted the art being used in an advertisement.
