data auto adapted issue

Soo spent about 2 hours trying to find a solution to the issue in the picture.   So i have a few questions about it

1-How can i fix it?
2-can i prevent the issue for future projects?

It has affected all my duf files, i used models like Aiko3, Krystal, etc.  and just recently tried the latest version "not the beta"

Can you go to Content Directory Manager, expand all 4 sections, and post a screenshot?

Also, do you have a folder named auto-adapted?  What is the full path to it?

Were these scenes made on a different computer?

  • I have characters from Daz3 that i have used in the latest version and saved to duf formats.  but the recent issue i had is when i opened characters in a new scene to edit them for something i have planned.

As for auto-adapeted, i can find the folder and until this point i was still getting issues with the folders unchanged for the cms.

Well there you have it - you need to add the folder where your "auto-adapted" library is to Content Directory Manager under "Daz Formats"

    There are potentially 3 issues:

The immediate issue is that the path where the auto-adapted folder is located is not listed in your Daz Studio Formats.  You need to add "C:/Users/Shippo/Documents/Daz 3D/Studio/My Library".  Normally that's the first content folder, before "My Daz 3D Library".

    two other issues:

There are nested content folders in the Poser Formats section.  It looks like some items were installed to "...Content" and some to "...Content/Content".  This will confuse DS when it's trying to located files.

You have content in the Program Files folder.  Windows since Vista protects this folder by moving files to a Virtual Store.  Windows will display the files as if they are in the Program Files folder, but they aren't, so DS won't be able to find them.

  • Thank you MelanieL this fixxed some of the duf issues  ^.^

Fixmypcmike  the content folder was from a freebie that had content/content and really didn't notice it till now. my poor section is a scattered mess of freebies/other that it be nice if there was a program that edited and sorted the files into a cleaner looking folder.

I am using windows 8.1 on the content area, used XP and Win7 in the past with the folder and haven't run into an issue,  would it be advised to swtitch it to the non x86 version?

lastly the CMS, what exactly is its purpose? i mean i know it says it deals with older models etc,  but can it be fine to run it without that?

Any helpful advice is well welcomed ^.^
