    There's a new Public Build (Beta) 4.14

Yep, I don't use the Beta. I just wondered if these plugin updates meant that the general release of DS 4.14 was immenent

I'm looking at my DIM now and I see a 4.14 Beta AND a 4.14 (without the Public Build (Beta) build type).

Thanks: I just found this: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/449316

It looks like the General release is already out. I'm a bit surprised that they released it before all the problems with the store change  are resolved

Maybe if they fix DIM I'll be able to install these. DIM is currently not showing me anything to download or update.

My product library shows a slew of copies, half of them for Windows, and a couple of 32-bt versions. But there are two separate 64-bit for Mac, at two different sized. One at 339MB and the other at 352MB. They are labeled exactly the same. Anyone know what the difference is?

(Never mind, only the larger one has a download button. The other has a download and install button. Okay, I suppose the other one is DIM or something)

Yes, one is a standalone installer and one is a plain zip.

@Fixmypcmike I only do manual installs so if I upgrade to DS 4.14 ,and plugins need to be updated is there somewhere I can find a list of the plugins that need to be updated?

  • With all the problems that are occurring in the store I'm afraid to download DS 4.14 until things have settled down.

I am suddenly having the same issue, nothing in my ready to download tab :( but on my ready to install tab it is still showing my update for DS 4.12  update which I never did as I didn't want to mess with figuring out which new video card driver I would need so both my cards work,

@DAZ_Jon just posted about this:  https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/6202376/#Comment_6202376

  • DIM is empty for me, just completely blank.

And before you do download 4.14, make a backup copy of the installers for the version you have now, including any plugins that are version-dependent. A new revision always causes problems for some users, otherwise, there will be weeks and months of them asking where they can download 4.12 again. It happens every time there's a new general release.

So strange. I'm not having any problem downloading anything from DIM. I just downloaded almost 11 gigs. I also downloaded 4.14 and installed fine and working. I really don't understand how others are having an issue. I hope you all can figure out why it's happening for you all.

@Northof45 Other than the installers for 4.12 beta and measure metrics and figure metrics what oth version dependant files would need to be backed up?

Anything in your DIM list that has 4.12 in it, like Decimator, Dynamic Clothes Control, you mentioned Measure Metrics, and some bridges, like GoZ, Photoshop 3D. I don't know about the newer ones like DAZ to Blender, Daz to Maya, and all those, but if they turn up in the download list with new versions, you can bet they won't work with the old version of Studio if you have to go back.

Did you check where everything is being downloaded and installed to? My DIM had reset my download and install locations from am external hard drive to the default C drive and before I realized what was happening, it wrote over my manifest file, making me have to reinstall my whole huge library which took 2 days!  A few times my name/email got corrupted too and I had to delete my log in and create a new one. Make sure everything is set up as it’s supposed to be in the advance tab.

  • Hi
So Daz 4.14 is all new and shiny, ready to be installed.
    BUT
Since I don't have issues at the moment in version 4.12, I would like to know if there is a way to download back Daz 4.12.1.118.
Just in case I need to roll back.

    Regards,

Always keep a copy of your installed version as backup. And if you're paranoid, the one before that as well.

Probably already known now but I did notice that the environment and tonemapper options are no longer in the render settings tab, but are in the scene tab which I find interesting and head scratching at the same time..

I read the post here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/449316

    I am totally confused. frown

What even is a "4.9 general release"? I thought the latest version is 4.14? How did we get to 4.9? Doesn't this mean everything is a pre-4.9.x build?

What is that "VALENTINA DB BASED CMS" thing, please? I have never heard that before.

How do I upgrade my Daz Studio to 4.14? Is it even safe now to do so?

I think that that is for anyone using a 4.9 or before build, older versions. If you are on 4.12 or 4.11 there's no problem, just update using DIM - remember to have DS closed when updating.

Oh, I see. My brain somehow thought it was like 4.1.2, not 4.12. Thank you for the explanation.

I am currently updating my GPU drivers, then I am going to update to 4.14.
