Iray and ambient occlusion

I was just wondering, since Iray calculates ambient occlusion, is there a way to pronounce that effect a bit more? I got the feeling that in often the shadows in the corners (like where a wall hits the floor) aren't pronounced enough. If the objects are mapped with images that have the occlusion painted in already, they mostly look way more realistic in my eyes. So... dear experts, is there a setting to crank up the Iray ambient occlusion? :-)
