Batch renderers not using saved render engine

I recently upgraded to the recent version of Daz Studio (4.14?). I believe the previous version was 4.9, correct? Under that version, I was able to use a batch renderer by D3D and had no issues. I set my files up to use the 3Delight render engine as that is what my system can handle. After the upgrade, I attempted to set up the batch renderer as before and for some reason, it defaults back to iray instead of 3delight. I've gone back to my files and made sure that they were saved with a 3delight render engine. I even tried another batch renderer by Draagonstorm. I get the same issue of the renders being done in iray. What am I missing? I use the batch renderer so that I don't have to babysit my files as they render. I'm currently letting one file render without using the batch renderer and it's rendering correctly. I will also add that D3D's program doesn't have the means to set the render engine that is used. Draagonstorm's does. I made sure that DS's batch renderer was set to use what was saved with the file. So I'm not understanding what I'm missing here.

  • There is a huge gap between 4.9 and 4.14

  • Sorry I meant to say 4.12 not 4.9. I checked an older laptop that I had used and realized I had listed the version number wrong. I still had the issue though. I had installed 4.14 thru DIM. Maybe that's what's caused the issue. Regardless, I ended up doing a system restore to back before I upgraded and managed to get back to 4.12. There has got to be an easier way to go back to a previous version if things go crazy. I think I might stick to 4.12 for the time being unless someone has a solution to my problem with 4.14.

You can try the Public Build (Beta) 4.14 and keep your 4.12 General Release.

Before downloading a new DS version in DIM, move the zips for the old version (including plugins labeled for that version) out of the DIM downloads folder, so you can revert to the old version if necessary,

  • How does one do that? I don't see that option in my DIM settings?

  • By manually moving the zip and .dsx files (the numbers in the name are the SKU) out of the DIM Downloads folder. If you want to revert, put them back then start DIM and choose to Work Offline (so it won't see that there's a newer version).
  • Ok. Thanks. I ended up having to go back to my old laptop to retrieve the downloads for future issues. Working on downloading the BETA of 4.14 now. Just wish I knew what caused my initial issue that started all of this.
