How to replace image in the gallery without deleting and re-adding it?

How can I replace an image in my gallery without deleting it and re-adding it? I have made a minor error correction to the render, but don't want to loose all the comments or have to re-enter all the products used, description, tags, etc. Or maybe I have to?

    To my knowledge you really can't put one image in another's place...about the best you could do is upload the new one and put that it is version two or something :)

    And to be honest it is good that way. People make comments in best faith it is for a specific image, if you later can replace it with whatever you like that would be quite unfortunate - not only could you make their comments look silly or tear totally out of context, but even use good images to collect nice comments for any crap. Not sayin' you 'd do this, but you know.. if you can.. people.. ;)

    If you could replace images, it definitely should delete all comments.

    Good point about the comments potentially no longer matching the image they were originally posted for, I hadn't even considered that.

    Exactly why that is done that way actually..just to be sure the comments go with the image in question :)
