Anyone having trouble with Measure Metrics?

Hello,

I have been using measure metrics for a couple of years now with no issues but now it appears to be broken. When I try to run it I get a message stating that I need to to have the measure metrics plug-in installed and registered to continue. However it is installed and I have even tried re-installing it to no effect. I do see that the latest version for Daz 4.14 is out but I am running Daz 4.12. In my product library there is a version for Daz 4.6+ so I tried manually installing that but I am still having issues.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

You need the version that matches the version of DS -- the last two digits should match.

Unfortuneately there is no product listing in my product library for a version that matches Daz 4.12 anymore so I guess I am being forced to upgrade Daz Studio. Hopefully that will work.

Yes, the versions on the server are always the current versions. if you need an older version for some reason (e.g. GPU compatibility) then please contact support.

Ok, good to know. Does it help to keep the current download files archived, for future installation, if things go really bad on my machine?

Yes, after installing a new version move the main zip and the zips for matching plugins out of the downloads folder so you can roll back if necessary.

To do so you would need to place copies of the backed up fiels in the DIM Downloads folder, then start DIM and choose to Work offline (so it can't see the newer version).

Thanks Richard. I am doing that anyway. Had to re-install my whole library because of some assets messing up my G8 morphs, and the still rather beta DC did not help much either on my Mac. But its good to know that, if need be, I can ask CS for a specific version.

Edit: manually corrected the auto-correct surprise

Basic question so apologies if the answer is, 'Of course I did'.

If you reinstalled did you reactivate it again with the serial number? Is there a green plug next to it in the 'About Installed Plugins' list?

  • The serial number should be remembered on any given system for any given release channel.

  • I had to upgrade to 4.14 because even though I was using 4.12 and had the install files for Measure Metrics 4.12 DIM insisted on installing 4.14 even though I HADN'T DOWNLOADED IT !

You can avoid DIM installing the updated version by working offline.

Pretty curious. I've never (~2007) had DIM install something that wasn't selected in the "Download" or "Ready to Install" tabs.
