Use World Coordinates, Use Local Coordinates, etc.

When you have the universal tool activated in the viewport, the Tool Settings pane has options such as "Use World Coordinates", "Use Local Coordinates", etc. I switch back and forth between these often when adjusting items in a scene. Is there a way to customize DS to make these options into buttons I can put right in the toolbar for quick access? I'm not sure if these are actions available somewhere in the list at Windows > Workspace > Customize.

Also, can somebody explain the difference between "Use Local Coordinates" and "Use Object Coordinates", and/or provide an example where I can see the differing behavior? According to http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/artzone/pub/software/universalmanip/start , "Use Local Coordinates, the default option, will shift the manipulator based on the rotation and coordinates of the selected node. Use Object Coordinates will position the manipulator close to the node selected but rotations will not affect it. ", but I don't know what that means and don't see the difference in a quick test.
