What iray shaders go with various items?

I had this cloth a shirt specifically and picked an irady shader from the surfaces tab that was for clothes. But the color didnt change. Is there some trick or option to see what shaders an item can use?

Some shaders don't show their effects until you render, and some might require that you apply the Iray Uberbase first.

Iray Uber Base is the default Iray shader.
