Seamlessly Tiled Texture for Displacement or Bump Doesn't Render Seamless

Hi,

In the attached image, I am using a seamless tile for displacement. I have checked it with the Photoshop offset filter multiple times and it really is completely seamless. The horizontal tiles and vertical tiles are set to 4. In the image you can see small lines where the tiles meet up. This also happens when I switch from displacement to bump. I tried changing various render settings but nothing helped.

Does anyone know what causes this? And how I can get it to stop?

Thanks,
Janet

I have found displacement to be ultra sensitive.
I would try setting up the shader from scratch again.
I've had displacement not turn off even after I've turned it off. So it's not one of my favorite tools

since your map is definitely seamless, I would work on the settings in DS.

Sorry that I don't have a brilliant fix.

When you say render settings does that include the shading rate? It should be set about .2 or you can have oddities and bad renders.

If you're using the progressive renderer it will do that with anything that's been through Shader Builder, the only "fix" is to use the standard renderer.

Thanks for the reply Khory, I did have it at 0.2 then I even tried down to 0.01 and that made no difference.

Hi Lyoness, I tried it with the daz default shader and just set a diffuse color and the tiled displacement scales and that looked better. There were no seam artifacts. I guess it doesn't like my shaders %-P

Hi Hole, That did the trick! Thanks! The only issue is that the standard renderer takes longer to render. But at least it's a fix. I think I better study up more on DS render settings.

Trying to, need to make a bug report about not being able to make a bug report. :(

...meant to say Shader Mixer not Builder.

parrotdolphin, you can use omnifreaker's shaders like ubersuface if you don't need something too complicated, they're not affected by this.

I'm finding this problem might be restricted to Filter Forge textures but I'm having trouble trying to narrow down exactly what's responsible since it doesn't happen with all of them and even if it was 100% there are still a lot of variables.
Tiles made with other methods seems to work fine ...so far.

The specular and roughness maps in this material aren't 100% seamless yet so I can see were the seam is but it's not showing that hard line like the FF textures do( ...some of them).
