Changing the color of a L.I.E item

I have a tattoo which I loaded onto a characters face. I can go into the LIE editor and move it, mirror it, make it bigger, but I cannot figure out how to change the color. It comes in black and I wanted to play around and see what it would look like as red maybe.

There is a color bar seemingly associated with this item in the LIE editor and I can select another color which applies to the color bar but it doesn't seem to have an affect on the tattoo itself. I have worked with both the Base LIE and that within the Translucency Color LIE.

Is there a way to change the color of a feature like this?

  • I guess you could edit the image map

  • Thanks for the response. I will look into that and see what I can do.
  • Ok. I am still not sure exactly how all these files are organized, but Gimp was able to find the specific tattoo I wanted to play with. I then changed the color in Gimp and exported it back out Then applied it back on the figure in Daz. Thanks for the info, I learned something new today. I also discovered I need to learn Gimp now to.
  • Changing the colour in the latyer's colour gizmo won't work as the colours are multiplied, and black (0) always yields black. One thing you could have done is add a new layer above the tattoo, give it the same maks as the tattoo (assuming it has one) and experiment with opacity and blending mode.
