billboards in "rear" interfering with and hiding billboards in "front"

Hi,

I loaded a bunch of billboards of people (billboards of individuals, and billboards of people) into a subway car scene, and sometimes a billboard I have put toward the front of the scene is blocked by a billboard in the rear -- as if the rear billboard were actually in the front. Is there any easy fix for this?

I'm using two kinds of billboards: "Insta-Crowd Billboards," and "Now-Crowd Billboards."

Thanks in advance.

Is it possible the object has it's normals facing the other way?  Try flipping the object that's being overrun about 180 degrees.  Otherwise, a screen shot may help us understand better.

  • Is this in a render or in the Viewport? Z-ordering, deciding which transmapped surfaces are in front of which, is always a problem with Texture Shaded mode.

  • I uploaded three screen shots taken from three different camera angles showing the same billboards, so you can see what I'm referring to.

(I tried rotating a billboard 180 degrees, and it did not make any difference.)

    Thanks again for any assistance.

  • Richard, this is not a render. It's viewport.

  • Ok, I see that rendering does not have the problem.  (I guess nothing is to be done about the viewport appearance.)

Thanks very much for the assistance!
