HELP! DAZ Studios production window won't launch

I've fallen and can't get up! Around mid-day yesterday, EST (USA) on 11-21-20, DAZ Studios production window stopped responding. The attached screenshot is the only window that opens on program startup. I was able to blindly create a Barefoot Dancer" using Scene Builder. But there remained no production window. All of the advice I read about working with 4.14 is futile if I can't launch the production window. I tried everything I read that does not rely on needing a production window; restarting Windows 10 64 bit; uninstalling DAZ and reinstalling, etc., to no avail. I did read someone advising that it may be a DAZ Cloud issue. I am getting the following error in my log: WARNING: ..\..\..\..\..\src\sdksource\cloud. Also attached is my log file. You can see that the program is trying to function but there are several BIG error messages. Please help.

I have the same problem after uninstalling to re-sort my purchased downloads. For some odd reason, not well explained, my purchases were sorted into the "Lost and Found" category in DAZ Studio. I read up on this and found that I could move them into appropriate categories, but after doing so my renders froze. I had to believe that moving the files caused this problem, so I did a quick uninstall and reinstall. This did not work and only resulted in having duplicate files in DAZ. So, I did a clean uninstall by deleting the folders and backing up .my few .Duf files and rendered images. After reinstalling through DIM DAZ gave me the same error you have. I made sure I had the associated files installed, uninstalled DAZ Studio again, then downloaded the full DAZ Studio package to install using that. Still, I have the same issue. I have created a Tech Support Ticket and attached the log files from a total of three attempts. Now, I have to wait for Support.

  • Go to

    %AppData%/daz 3d/studio4/

You should see .dsx files for layout, actions, customactions, menus, and toolbars - try removing the layout.dsx file, then open DS. If that still doesn't work try removing all of them and again try opening DS.

This discussion was created from comments split from: DAZ Install Manager (has encountered a fatal error, and must close).
  • You did not have the same error, since the original, old, thread is about Install Manager crashing and you appear (since you don't really give details) to be having an issue with Daz Studio. I am going to merge one of your other "same problem" posts in here and see if I can figure out what you are seeing.

What do you mean by not getting the production window? Is it that the main application is not opening, or is the application opening but lacking the 3D viewport?

Lost and Found is a category (not a folder) and simply means the files listed have not otherwise been categorised - it isn't an error, and can be fixed by categorsing the files (which adds refercnes to a database, it doesn't duplicate anything - if you moved/copied actual files then that may well have caused issues).

What do you mean "I did a clean uninstall by deleting the folders "? deleting files and foldrs certaibnly isn't going to be a clean uninstall, it will leave settings and database refrences untouched.
