ty! I'm going to have to dl later

  • @clcny20:  I have to ask, it's killing me:  Is there a workflow, video, or diagram somewhere that shows the steps for moving a Marvelous Designer outfit from an A-posed avatar inside MD, to a custom-posed character inside a Daz Studio scene.

Doesn't have to be detailed at all, I'm just looking for high-level bullet points to describe the process.

I've been hopping on and off the fence about MD for a couple of years now.  I have the vague suspicion that ZBrush is involved in the MD-to-DAZ pipeline, and the fact that I completely and utterly suck at ZBrush is really the only thing that's kept me from doing a 30-day experiment with MD.

And BTW, your stuff looks terrific.  Lighting, rendering, outfit design, all of it.  But the most impressive part to me is that you've managed to get the kiddo's heads scaled exactly where they should be; a trick which I think eludes the vast majority of us who occasionally try including a younger model in a scene.  The head always looks wrong. Always. :D

There are a few videos on youtube, yes--if you have animate 2, you can use MDD to move the animation.  That was the only way I could figure out to make it work

    Here's one:

As for the kiddos looking to scale, I owe that all to the wonderful models in the daz shop and renderosity--that make it so much easier! Thanks so much for the compliments, btw!

Hey. I don't know if this qualifies as "cute kid" but I'm just learning this software and so far loving what you can do with it!

Jas, it definitely does qualify--and welcome!  Isn't it a great program?  I've owned it for YEARS, and never really got into it, I'm literally just now discovering all you can do with it.  Better late than never though!

I did this render of two young siblings last week. Now I want to point out that these characters are not my own dial-work. This is Aster by AngelWings and Connor by FWSA, and I used BlueJaunte's expressions on the girl.

This one, and the following three, are from a year and a half ago. (These characters are mine.) Summer sounds good right about now. laugh

omg, they are adorable!  I need to try a siblings render

  • I was so inspired by all the other nice renderings here that I threw together my own toddler portrait.

In love with the rosy cheeks.  I have to remember to add that to my models--love it!  A Charles Dickens vibe all around <3

Those tights are adorable, as is the pose <3

I would think babies through teens.  There are no rigid rules, lol.
