uberenvironment2 problem... suggestions?

Trying to use uberenvironment2 for the first time. Getting a weird effect on the skin (see picture). Looks like she's made of sandpaper. Other renders have a stone-like effect.

Any suggestions on what I'm doing or not doing? I've reviewed some of the tutorials and will continue doing so, but I'm not sure what I need to do to fix this.

Thanks,

Treebeard

You would be better using one of the Presets for UE2.

They are icons which are labelled 'Set Quality', and what they do is change the settings in the Parameters pane for UE12. Basically turn down the Shading Rate to a much lower value thatn the default '32' (try 8.0), and turn up the Occlusion samples to a much higher number that the default of about 4 (try 128 instead)

The above controls are in the Parameters pane with UE2 selected in the Scene pane (not render settings)

Thanks Jimmy, I did use one of the Presets, the High Quality one I believe.

I'll try the adjustments you suggest. I'll also experiment with some lights.

Do you have any other lights in your scene? UE2 works better when used as ambient lighting along with another direct light, like distant light or spot light.

I did have a spot, but it was blue, intensity turned way down, and off to the side.

    I'll try some other lighting.

    Thanks

Hm, what are your render settings?
Especially "Shading Rate" is important for a good quality render. Try a value of 0.5 or even lower. Raise "Shadow Samples" to 16 if necessary.

Thanks all. Seems that light was a big factor. Tried the things you all recommended. I think the main problem was I needed more light on the subject. I'll keep experimenting.

The attached is a redo. I hope you'll agree it came out better than the other one...

    Thanks so much,

That is a beautiful render, well done.

UE2 can work wonders at times, and it's well worth learning about. Thanks for posting this.
