Looking for mature female characters 30's and early 40's

Like mentioned in the title I am looking for older characters like Abrey 8 or Alexandra 8 or monika (in the age range from 30's to early 40's) for example:

https://www.daz3d.com/fwsa-monika-hd-for-victoria-7-and-her-jewelry

https://www.daz3d.com/alexandra-8

https://www.daz3d.com/aubrey-8

There seems to be a distinct lack of characters in this age range. The characters are either pretty young or pretty old (daz improved in that regard and there are some good grandma-characters).

But in the age range I mean, the situation seems pretty dire.

Do you know some female characters who would fit into that age range?

The problem I've noticed is that whenever you see someone say "oh this character looks to be in their 30's or 40's," they're pointing to a woman who is easily in their 60's or 70's. (Ok, that's a bit of an exageration, so let's say 50's or higher...)

Most women in their 30's don't look that much different than they did in their 20's...unless they baked under UV rays like a fiend in their youth. I'll be 40 next year and my skin hasn't changed all that much. No wrinkles. No age spots. No sagging. (And I'm pretty much as white as you can get genetically...half Swedish and half British). My mom is in her early 60's and she looks younger than a lof of the women folks on this site point to as being in their 40's, lol.

Elitihia, as linked above, I would say is a good one...and oddly enough I just noticed that she looks a heck of a lot like the woman who played Amara on Supernatural.

Alexandra I would put more towards late 40's to early 50's.

Your concept of what 30s looks like seems off. Alexandra reads late 40s at the youngest and most of the main daz characters pass just fine as 30s

Victoria, Eva, Alawa, Angharad, Celani, Josephene, Gabriella, Sahira could all easily pass for mid 30s

Maybe I should have said late 30's. One can argue wheather a character like Alexandra 8 looks like early or late 40's or even early 50's.

Most 30-40 year old woman I know don't look like the daz-models age wise (maybe just bad genes;-))

But that's not my point. So let's rephrase. I simply look for characters which show some traces of age, for example little frinkles etc. and look therefore a little bit older.

I understand that most daz characters can represent a "young" looking 30 year old but that's not what I am looking for.

This is a visual medium.  Post picture references.

Well, I posted picture references in my first post?

Ellitha 8 which Hylas posted is also a good example for a late 30's character in my humble opinion.

These are the only ones which I know of.

As already stated...most of the G8 base characters can easily pass for 30's or early 40's. There's really not much difference in how a woman looks from her 20's to 30's and even into her 40's if she takes care of her skin. Victoria 8, Tasha 8...these could easily be women in their 30's.

As Servin has suggested, I would post picture refrences...real-world picture references. The characters you linked above represent a rather wide gamut of ages.

Is it even allowed to post random photos i may find in the internet here (copyright wise)?

I know that most daz-characters can pass for age range 30-40.

But that are not the ones I am looking for. I look for characters with maybe some wrinkles or a little bit of gray hair but not in the grandma age range of for example Mrs Chow 8.

Ok. Found the perfect example again (as visual reference):

    https://www.daz3d.com/satine-hd-for-genesis-3-female

According to description over 35 year old female. Notice the little age marks and not so perfect skin?

That's what I am looking for.

...In this promo, Alexandrea with that particular hair reminds me a bit of of the current House Speaker.

The PA can state any age they want, but I'd put Satine way above 35...that or she's had a rough life out in the sun.

Maybe the cigarettes in those promo pics took their toll. :) But she doesn't look older than 40. Besides that certain facial wrinkles are also subject to genetics.

To the OP: have you considered Sydney 8?

Yeah, Sidney 8 would also fit my description. Totally forgot that character.

    Thanks.

If she's not older than 40, then I guess I'm doing exceptionally well for turning 40 next year, lol.

Now Sydney 8...I'd put her at maybe even a bit older than my mom...and she's 62.

TBF the promo technically just says "after her 35th birthday" it doesn't say how long after ;) she could be a very young looking 90 year old

I think the problem here is that people think "teen girls" and 20 year old women look like Thorne dolls, and any female character who isn't stylized like that is somehow "old".

For OP, another good character, despite her overly stylized shape is Edie 8. Her skin and normals can age a character.

Just dialing in Auto Face Enhancer adds a good 10 years to most characters.

As for characters that are naturally more mature, Brianne and Monet by Maddelirium  (Renderosity) fit into this range and are really lovely.  Carley's no teenager, but probably too young for you.

And, as Molly said, Edie mixes really well,

I can remember some newly hired haggard looking women at my work complaining they shouldn't be doing the heavy lifting as they were older than me turns out both were mid 30's and I was 42 at the time, they didn't last long but thats besides the point, thing is appearance varies a lot as far as age is concerned.

I have one of those soft indeterminate not particularly attractive faces that looks youthful, age is finally catching up now I near 60.

hard defined faces age faster, sharp cheekbones, strong jaws things that look extremely attractive in youth.

Another one is Martha from Raiya. Similar to the ones listed in the OP https://www.daz3d.com/ry-martha-for-genesis-8-female

I don't have this character but I do have the matching bob hair from OutOfTouch and have had the character on my wishlist for a while.

Depends on what time period they're rendering in.  Today?  Yeah.  In the past?  Not so much. cheeky

To age a character you can choose the HD version of any of the more mature ones and dial them in as much as you like.

The base character is Sahira 8 (HD)

Sahira HD 0%; Sydney HD dialed in 50%

Sahira HD 0%; Sydney HD dialed in 100%

Sahira HD 0%; Mabel HD dialed in 100%

    Interesting discussion

I was poking around and found this study...

Think you can guess peoples age? Chances are you are out by about 8 years, according to Australian research which has looked at what makes us good and bad at guessing people's ages. The study used a database of almost 4,000 Australian passport images and asked 84 people to guess the ages of those in the photos. They found people were wrong by an average of 8 years, which the authors say can be attributed to two things; being influenced by the age of the faces you've just seen; and our tendency to think younger faces are older and older faces are younger.

If you want to see how others (or at least Microsoft) might guage your age, check this out

    And lastly.....

Perception of someones age depends on your own age as well - Someone between 16-20 years old thinks 35 years old is over the hill, close to retirement, whereas someone in their 50's sees 35 year olds as young grown-ups.

To me (57yrs) the examples look like 45-50 year olds, even though females in real life never age past twenty wink

Norma Shearer and Joan Crawford were in their late 30s / early 40s during the late 30s/ early 40s when they made The Women (1939).  See clip.

Make-up has a huge impact in homogenizing appearance.  It makes the young look older and the old look younger.  In this case, however, they're cheating with the lighting.  Flat light like this isn't typical and smooths out skin.  I'd wager that the results would look very different with shadows.

A lot of other factors play a role, lifestyle choices like smoking, diet, drug and alcohol consumption, as well as domestic situations, dental care, exposure to sunlight, and above all genetics help determine how quickly a person ages.
