How to tell if my account is PC or PC+?

My annual was charged on 7/29, it was $70. My anniversary is 8/02 (or 8/03).

It shows in my history as Platinum Club.

When I click on it in my history, I am taken to the advert page for Platinum Club +.

When I shop for Fast Grab, everything shows up as $1.99; I see no prices cheaper than that.

So...am I PC or PC+?

Click on 'My Account' and then 'Platinum Club. If you see two vouchers at the top, and a big sign that says "Platinum Club Plus" it's a safe bet you're on the new PC scheme.

It says "Platinum Club" and there's a button to convert. Thanks!

So next question...should I go shopping before I convert?

Couldn't hurt! Until you do, you're still on PC-un-Plus pricing (i.e., $1.99 or $2.99 for everything). After that, the pricing structure goes to the new formula, which is essentially the Fast Grab discount for anything released after the end of July (70%). At least I think that's the cut-over date; if I am mistaken about that, then I'm sure Chohole will be happy to correct me! ;-)

New PC items are at one of a set of tiered prices - $2.99, $3.99, $4.99 or $7.99 - with a two week introductory 30% discount. All older items are $1.99, there aren't any $2.99 PC items for PC+ members.

So, loosely speaking, what should my strategy be for shopping before converting to PC+?

And should I hold out on conversion until there's a strong motivating factor (or until I get auto-converted at my next anniversary)?

    Told ya! ;-)

Okay, it wasn't Chohole, but..., close enough!

In my own defense, I guess I missed that memo about the tiered pricing....

It all depends on your buying habits really. If you like buying new arrivals, then I'd recommend jumping on the PC+ bandwagon, as you get a significant discount on many items. You also get the benefit of having a PA discount voucher, so you can buy all the lovely stuff from big name non-Daz PA's like Stonemason or Zev0 with a tasty $6 knocked off the price tag.

The older PC items remain $1.99 even when you switch, with newer ones using the tiered pricing mentioned earlier. They still remain exceptional value for money though, so I honestly consider them well worth the extra.

    Thanks!

One last question. Does conversion from PC to PC+ apply immediately to the contents of my cart, or do I need to empty/refill my current cart?

I answered my own question. My current shopping cart says Subtotal $199.70, Discount, $112.18, Grand Total, 87.52.

PC+ would save me a whole 2 cents on this order, at least as it stands right now.

So no need to switch just yet, I guess.

This Platinum vs Platinum plus promotion is confusing me.

What is the advantage/Disadvantage of joining Platinum Plus or staying with Platinum, if you are already a Platinum member. I read the thread, but I am still not clear on what is going on and what the costs are. Is there a summary page and main thread somewhere??

    ~

I liked some of the features of the original platinum membership which gave periodic discounts and a general $6- voucher which could be applied (up to a percentage - 30% or 50%) to any order and any vendor's items and you whittled it down like store credit. And then the 'Fast Grab' was a good innovation that kept me coming back. It was simple.

Now there are all sorts of conditions and Two Platinum clubs.

You practically need a spreadsheet to keep up. It makes me wonder what the Daz weekly marketing meetings are like. Are they stand-up and discuss and exit, or are they all-day sit-down committee meeting affairs replete with detailed power-point presentations that go on and on?

I guess this is all great if you're a 'DazAholic' and it keeps the interest going if you watch it closely everyday. For, me I don't participate in many promotions now because they are too hard to follow and it consumes too much of my time to shop and get the best price. Having two platinum clubs and another decision to research (on a hobby where I am paying) doesn't help me.

This thread covers pretty much everything.. http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/44478/

The advantage of opting in sooner to the PC+ is mainly down to the extra monthly coupon. If all want are 1.99 items, then sit tight until your existing membership ends - only then will you be moved over to the PC+.
