Auto-fit Issue

I'm not sure if this is a bug or an intended "feature" but I'm having an issue with autofit and groups. You can put a piece of clothing on a model, being sure the clothing is fit to the model and looks properly. But then put that piece of clothing in a group, with it still being fit to the model, the clothing morph deforms and no longer fits the model. The group can be parented to the model, with the clothinging article parented to the group but still fit to the model and the clothing morph will still deform. I would really like it if things I put in groups still stay attatched to the model they're fit to. Why put stuff in groups? Because if I group up outfits I can easily toggle them on and off as opposed to having to hide/show every individual piece of clothing I want to change.

I never considered putting clothes in a group, but that looks an interesting idea.
What happens if you fit everything individually and only then assign everything to the group?
I'm not 100% sure what you mean, aren't things fit individually by default?
I can load an outfit onto a model, it auto fits and everything is fit to the model. If I create a group, parent the group to the model then put the outfit in the group, the morphs deform as soon as they're in the group. Take the outfit out the group and it returns to normal. The outfit remains "fit" to the model either way.
I can repat that process but manually unfit and refit everything back to the model and then group it up, same problem.
I can create a group, put the outfit in the group then fit it to the model. Same problem.
As far as I can tell, for whatever reason autofit, or whatever process that fits clothes to a model, doesn't work for clothes in groups.
I mean that you need to fit every item individually you cannot put everything in the group and then fit the entire group.
I just tested it myself on genesis 2 character because G8 takes too long to load and everything looks fine.
the way how I do it: I fit items on the model then select all those items and use "create group" to put them all into the group.
As I see the parenting of the fitted item has absolutely no importance to anything You do not even need to parent the group to a character it has no effect at all.
maybe I do not understand what does it mean "the clothing morph deforms and no longer fits the model." because for me everything looks fine.
It's always something. I tried to replicate this with the model I'm currently working on and everything worked fine. But I know I'm not crazy and I know this happened, so I loaded up the file I was using at the time to figure this out. I've found the issue, it probably a genuine glitch/bug because it requires specific conditions to trigger, but here it is.
I'm using a G3 model but I'm using an outfit designed for G8. Now it fits, perfectly, the autofit scripts handle it quite nicely. It just bugs out when the outfit is placed in a group. I've attatched an image showing how it looks in both situations. The left side shows how it looks with the outfit pieces in the group, the right side shows how they look ungrouped. In both cases the clothes are fit to the model.
I think I've grouped outfits etc but have that group inside the master group which is the character name so that they stay related to the figure?

not sure how I did this ... may have dressed the character grouped the clothes an put them and the base in a new group or
may have created an empty group .. moved it under the master group and then moved the clothes (and cat parts in this case into the empty group that was under the master?
but I've loaded this many times and never had issues with the clothes
there are four tee-shirts in the clothes group that I can turn on and off.
Yeah, I can get this to work just fine. I just stubled upon some type of bug that seems to be between G8/G3 and groups. I haven't done enough testing though.
by looking at that picture it gives me the impression that your items got scaled as this is not the morph issue but your clothes got bigger
something like that happened to me when I had scale factor locked while the item is parented unparenting it usually causes it to change the size
That actually made sense since I had also rescaled the model. I added it to my current project to see but I don't think that's the case. It's not just a scale issue, it also deforms some morphs.
I don't really understand the meaning of "deforms some morphs" but rescaling fitted figure causes very interesting unpredictable effects
True. But in this case it was genuinely deforming the morph. The most important thing you mentioned, which ultimately led me to figuring out what was wrong, was "unpredictable". This bug was causing a consistent, repeatable glitch for me. No matter what outfit was set to that group they would all take the exact same shape. I dunno wtf I did to that group, but I deleted it and made a new group and now things work just fine.
