The genesis character renders normal. What would cause this?

Is that a screen cap of your preview?
If it is then that's actually normal. The preview is only an approximation of the final render.
The more complex your materials and lighting gets the less helpful the preview becomes.

If that's the actual render, then check your material settings.
    Which figure is this?
Has it loaded with Poser materials?

If your figure has a skin texture that uses the Subsurface shader, and you have not installed it, then your figure will render white. Please check if you have the Subsurface shader installed. It is included the "Default lights and shaders" product, that is a free download in your product library/DIM.

Even when the SSS shader is installed you get the white skin from time to time. Close DS, restart, load your scene and render again ...
it is one of those "we don't know the trigger for the bug" bugs ... it just happens now and then.
