Faint squares and/or lines on dome in background

Hello -

I'm rendering a series of portraits of a character, some of which are full length. In those, while using Easy Portraits for Iray, the final render has faint boxes and/or lines that show up on the dome. I wonder if this has to do with the actual HDRI image. I love the lighting produced, but these ghost shapes are very distracting on what is supposed to be a plain gray background. Any thoughts onm how to get rid of them?

If this was in 3Delight I'd suggest (from memory) it was an issue with the mesh of the skydome being visible and converting to SubD to solve it. With Iray and HDRI though .. one way might be to turn the dome visibility off and use Plane Primitives to give a neutral background/floor?

Thanks for replying. I discovered that the phenomenon occurs after I run the image through a Topaz denoiser, which does wonders on the model, but degrades the background. I think the only solution will be to put some drapes or a prop backdrop behind the model.
