Name that hair! Hersilia HD

Carboncrow out with another beautiful model but what hair model did he use?  Looks like an OutofTouch hair but not sure which one.  Thank you!

Maybe this with some of the strands hidden:

Taoz, that looks quite plausible!  Thank you!

Yeah that looks like a definite possibility - gonna have to try that out when I get home from work

Wish carboncrow would make a male character.  Their characters are probably the best on the Daz store, or one of the best.

I bought her today she is a great figure. The only issue I have is many high heel shoes don't fit her. They get all deformed.

Actually, I think Taoz is correct. You have to do some work with it though to get it to look like the promo. You have to hide the bangs 1 and 2 surfaces. Then I believe the artist went back in with the geometry tool to remove even more unwanted hair strands. After that I think post work was done to add all the fine hair details. Here is me quicky test on elysa hair.

How are the eyebrows?  I'm not seeing any in your render.  Hagar's eyebrows were never fixed and I still have an outstanding problem ticket.  There were so many problems with Hagar I've not purchased from this PA since my first one.

Lol, I completely forgot about her eyebrows. They seem to be fitting correctly and moving with expressions. I havent done any thorough testing but ive had no issues with them yet.

Have you written a ticket about this? Some of Bluejaunte's characters do this but morphs were provided to "neutralize" the feet so that heels would fit just fine. Carboncrow is an excellent character artist but there is definetely a learning curve that that hasnt been yet achieved with D3d figures.

I'd say this PA has talent and interesting ideas, but would an "excellent character artist" sell products and then not fix them properly.  As for learning curve, it's best not to try to run before mastering walking.  Hagar has had updates to #1 fix the displacement map problem and #2 fix discoloration around the toenails and fingernails. The eyebrows were never fixed.  Daz QC obviously made no attempt to test this character before releasing it to the store.

I just tried Hersilia's eyebrows on Hagar and they seem to work fine. Also, they are colored using only iray material settings, no .jpg's or .png's, so they should be able to re-color just like Hagar's broken eyebrows.

I was able to work around the issue of Hagar's eyebrows not attaching to her and moving correctly. I even got them to work with expressions. The problem was that when used with expressions, they would deform alot. Might work with them a little more to see if that can be fixed.

EDIT: Actually, after rendering up close, Hersilia's eyebrows dont fit as well as I thought they did. They are offset just enough that it could look wrong depending on the lighting. Oh well.

    Yeah that's definitely the hair. Don't hide any surfaces, hide the bones instead (lfront1, lfront2, rfront1, rfront3, lbraid1, rbraid1, and rbraid2).

Need some fiddling with the volume in the back, but you get the idea:

Thanks for this heart, I also wanted to know what hair it was, I have had it in my wishlist but wasn't sure if it was right for my Lara character, now I see that it would suit her perfectly smiley. Can't wait for it to go on a good sale and try it out. Doesn't sound to difficult to get it to look like that, my Daz knowledge includes hiding bones laugh.

I wish I'd seen this discussion before I purchased Hagar last night. The eyebrows are indeed, completely broken. What a bummer.

Well you can... you know... put in a ticket for customer support. And they will... you know... fix your problem as soon as possible.............

    Or not.

laugh usually this one it seems. I still have two outstanding product issue tickets that I've never even received a response for. Thankfully one of them was a popular product that spawned a thread here, which then prompted the PA step in and fix it.

I'd be surprised if Hagar gets fixed any time soon, so I'm just going to request a refund.

There are a number of products that offer various eyebrows if one really likes a given character.

Side note, depending on your holiday loyalty discount and your cart configuration (not sure what's triggering what, due to the various sales), it looks like you can get the Eylsa hair in the bundle for a pretty nice price right now. :-)

Nice find, I never remember to check the bundle prices vs the individual items!

Whenever I go to buy things I tend to check for bundles out of habit.

In this case, though it was kind of a reverse find. I'm a fan of OutofTouch and Raiya bundles, and so I'd done a sort by percent off using Daz Deals on Raiya's shop page when I saw the sales this morning, and that's how I found that one. (And then I realized it was the one being discussed after testing it in the cart). :-)
