how do i find the uv_set used for a character skin before buying?

when i'm interested in buying a character for gn1 or g2fm, where does the product page show the required uv_set?
i usually mix head shapes and skins, so i might buy a skin even if i don't have the required figure morph.
do all the gen5 gen6 figures have their own custom uv_set?
thanks :)

The UV map for the skin texture depends on the vendor (which one he uses). Some mention it in the product description, others do not.
Genesis can have a gen4 or gen5 UV map, Genesis 2 can have a gen5 or gen6 UV map.
As Xoechz pointed out, some will put it in somewhere in the product page, either in the description or on the what's included tab. If these aren't present, I'll ask in the forums in a new thread, or in the promo thread if one exists.
iz makin me miss the mil3 days, wuz all good.
discovered as long as the .duf isn't compressed, can search the file for uv_set. seeing stuff like Michael205.
i'm going to start organizing my character folder by uv_set. don't have all that many for gn g2mf, can post a list iffn anyone is interested.
there is something in ds that can uncompress a .duf file. can't remember.
By default, Genesis uses the V4 mapping. Usually if the character requires a specific character set with a specialized uv set, it will list it in the required products.
By default, G2F uses the V5 mapping and G2M uses the M5 mapping. Again, if characters require a specific character set or uv set, it should say so in the required products.
It wouldn't hurt if DAZ put a simple statement on the product page that x character requires y. It would go a long way to avoiding confusion.
