getting a daz installer?
I think this has been kicked to death .
Mea sorta culp..
I have backups of the daz folders back through 106 or so.
but I don't have a newer installer than 4.8
---
I'm taking this C drive out of the computer... cloning it bit for bit (16 hour process estimated if all goes well)
then I going to update the cloned drive to win10 another X hours
and then debug that resulting mess X more hours
---
So I have another earlier C drive ready to stick in the box... I've duplicated my library and the roaming etc.
but it doesn't have a Daz install on it.
---
I don't have the content manager .. which seems to be the only way to get a daz installer..
my library says .. Oh look this has all these packages and you have them all
and of course the 414 installer ate it's tail after installing it self.
---
and instructions for where to go... or should I just install the 4.8 .. to get resistry entries etc.

Your Product Library will be able to supply you with a 4.14 installer. Filter on "DAZ Studio 4.x Pro" and expand the Description part of the right side. No, it is not supposed to look like that, it just hasn't been corrected yet. All the installers are available further down.
thanks .. I knew it was buried somewher
It's not your fault if the download links are hidden in a drop down named "Descrioption"... It took me 2 days of deductions to click that button and scroll to the bottom. (Notice blank product page. Notice the forum is not in flames. Notice the drop down and click it. Yep, just description, close. Check again and scroll down. There it is. WHY?)
I think this bad design choice was made to discourage manual downloads in favor of the new Daz Central, or Install Manager.
I wonder why Daz doesn't leverage available platforms instead of pulling off subsequent generations of proprietary tools. If Daz Studio was available on the Microsoft Store, I might consider installing it from there. Content will be installed manually anyway.
I sort of use DIM to do manual installs.. I have multiple folders named by usage and after DIM downloads I tell it where to install them...
Can't picture having all the stuff in one folder over a gigs worlth
the daz folder with the stuff that needs to be in the daz folder is 25.6 GB (27,537,256,448 bytes) 94,081 Files, 17,104 Folders
the main data drive is 1.65 tb and I can't begin to guess how many files are in that
