It didn't export OBJ, if you mean ZBrush Core (but I didn't think that was free). Sculptris did work, as long as you don't use symmetry.

The product page under the heading of 3D printing says it will exsport an object file that you can then load into any 3D printer slicing , however i am unclear if this would work for the purposes of building morph Targets in Des Studio software

I expect that's .stl or the like.

  • I don't think this is going to work. If you check the comparison page, and in specific the import/export section, you'll also noice that CoreMini can't seem to import anything. Which I'd imagine is required before you can actually work on something..

Well after looking at their corporate site there is a $10 a month licensing title lease for ZBrush core which does give me a lot more functions than the core mini practice version , so I believe I'm going to do that and then I'll see if that serves the purpose or not

Keep in mind that they'll also allow you to demo their software for an x period of time. So that might also be an option to see if this is something for you without immediately having to spend money.  Although I am biased as heck (I started using ZBrush a few weeks ago myself) I can tell you that it works remarkably well in combination with Daz Studio.

I am aware of demo versions but the real problem with those are is most of them are crippled for x amount of saves or are just like practice versions I found that out when I downloaded ZBrush core mini it's really a cool little thing but all you can do is practice to tutorials with it so I don't mind throwing down $10 a month for a working version that I can actually produce morph targets with cuz I've given up on Michael and Victoria four, and from what I've been able to gather by playing around in studio with the Genesis 3 and 8 starters Genesis is starting to grow on me . They're much better figures higher detail they look better rendered plus there are enough plugins for studio that I can convert a lot of my old poser content to be used to be rendered in studio with IRA so yay
