Adding custom icons/cards to morph dials in DS -- what step am I missing?

I'm trying to add custom icons/cards to some morph dials in DS 4.6, but, no matter what I do, I can't get them to stick.

First I create the PNGs for the icons/cards. Then I open up G2F, since I want to add the icons to morphs on her. Under Parameters, I browse to the dial to which I want to add an icon. I click the gear and then Properties. When the Properties window comes up, I browse for Icon and Card PNGs that I want. I preview the result to see that it looks right, then hit Accept.

And...now what? I don't know how to make these additions of icons appear in all current instances of G2F or in all new instances, for that matter. I have tried saving this G2F in a scene, but the icons don't stick. I've tried saving her as a modified figure [or maybe asset -- don't remember], but the icons don't stick. I've tried saving the morphs as modified assets, but the icons don't stick. What step am I missing here?

You should save as 'Morph Assets'.
    File-save as-support asset-morph assets

I'm not sure but I think you have to put the .pngs in Data under the figure base they are for.

After assigning the icons/cards, you need to save the changes you made.
This is done via File -> Save As -> Support Asset -> Save Modifed Assets...

This command will save all and any changes at once, so make sure you haven't dialed in any morphs or this will also be saved.
I always start with a new scene and loading only the base figure, just to be sure not to save any unwanted changes.

Hi BlackFeather1973 -- I do just what you recommend. After assigning the icons/cards, I do File>Save As>Support Assert>Modified Assets. A popup alerts me that certain assets will be modified. I hit Okay. The icon/card then shows up in that particular scene, but, when I restart, nothing. Very frustrating.

Just tested in DS4.6 and it's working for me.
Is the morph you assigned the image to, listed in the popup ?

Yeah, the morph is listed in the popup as something that will be modified. Maybe uninstalling and reinstalling G2F will help....

I get this error when I try to do it "The selected image is not in a mapped directory please select another image..'" I tried putting the png in the morph folder in the Data folder but it still gives me this error. I even get this error message if I try to change the already present icon in a PA morph for a slightly different one in the same folder by way of experiment. What should I be doing?

    Thanks

  • You are selecting the image from the new location, and that location is in an active Daz Studio content directory?

Are you adding the PNG file to a Daz Connect subfolder?  Daz Studio usually refuses to use any content added by a user to the "cloud" folders.
