Since downloading Daz Central I see where I can download and use photoshop bridge. I am leery of new software and just curious as to what Bridge is and if anyone use it now and have you any words of sage that can enlighten me. Is it safe? What does it do?

A bridge is just what it claims to be: an option to "connect" 2 programs together. In this case having the option to send the image if you current scenery directly into Photoshop. Keep in mind that only Photoshop CC is supported, so not the 'smaller' Elements version.
Bridges exist for multiple programs; stuff like Bryce and Hexagon are also suppoted.
