Did 4.14 change the way bump or normal maps work?

I have been messing around today trying to make a character, and it seems weird. A lot of the skins I slapped on her looks like the bump or normal maps are  up way too high or something. The skin is resembling more like orange peel than skin. There is an example, and that was after lowering both bump and normal a bit lol.

TheKD I still have 4.12. If you post the DUF, I'll render and we can compare.

Hmmmm, do you have Akoulina HD or aakash hd?  Here is what they render as. All I did was open new scene, load em in, zoom in camera to make sure no boobage is showing and hit render lol.

I would embed them, but it seems the edit button is not bringing up the full editor at this moment, that allows adding of photos etc.

I tested with Aakash, and it looks the same as your image. I think it's just an overexaggerated bump texture!

  • for iRay: Normal maps

    for Filament: Bump maps

to avoid: getting both sliders at 1.0 or 100%

    eliminate: Displacement maps (if any)

OK, that's weird how I never noticed lol. Not that I have had a ton of time for rendering this past year.
